Data collections and exports
Snapshots, publishing, CSV and Sisra.
Most schools gather grades three times a year: a data collection. It freezes everyone’s grades at a point in time so they can be reported and compared later, even as marks keep changing.
Taking a data collection
Open Data collections (heads of department and senior leaders). In one step:
- name it, for example “Autumn data collection”;
- choose the subjects;
- the app takes a snapshot of every student’s working-at, predicted and target grades;
- optionally, publish it to families;
- optionally, make progress reports for every student, ready to download.
Past collections are listed below, each with its subjects’ reports and Compare with now to see which grades have moved since. The School page shows the same movement for the whole school. Each subject also has a page listing its own collections, where a head of department can publish or unpublish one.
Exports
- CSV from a mock: the marksheet with totals and grades, from the mock’s Actions menu.
- Sisra: one button on a subject produces a file in Sisra’s import format (UPN, name, and a column per grade type), for schools that analyse whole-school data in Sisra.
Where the data comes from in the first place is covered in Data and privacy.
